La Gout Afrique is a convenience store with a twist, that serves African Cuisine. You’ll find a slice of West Africa in North Melbourne, where you can buy typical convenience store items then feast on jollof rice and plaintains afterwards.
Long time friends Evette Quoibia and Esther Moses are the owners and they renovated a tired old milk bar and reopened it in February 2023. The everyday menu consists of seven simple but delicious dishes that reflect the food eaten in Liberia, the owners’ country of origin, and Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.
