Spring Has Sprung at Welcome Merchant

Spring is here! Celebrate the new season and support refugee and asylum-seeker entrepreneurs while you’re at it by checking out our merchants for all your spring needs.

Flowers

Of course, nothing says spring like florals. If you’re based in Victoria, check out Miss Fleurtisan for elegant preserved flowers and candles. An added bonus of shopping here is that 5% of the profits go to Sisterworks, which is a social enterprise that supports refugees. Follow Miss Fleurtisan on Instagram here.

Another of our Melb-based floral merchants is The Beautiful Bunch,a social enterprise that supports young women from refugee backgrounds. Boasting gorgeous blooms-of-the-day bouquets, The Beautiful Bunch offer same-day delivery in select Melbourne suburbs. For more information visit their website by clicking here.

Cafes

With any luck, good weather is approaching soon. Enjoy springtime and support refugee and asylum-seeker run cafes while you’re at it by visiting the merchants below:

If you’re a Sydney-sider, visit Khamsa Café, a plant-based Palestinian eatery whose mission is to share progressive Middle Eastern culture and food with their diners. They’re dog-friendly, too! Check out their mouth-watering menu here.

Another one for Sydney-siders is Levanter Eatery, a Syrian café that is named after the winds that blow from the Levant to Europe. Check them out here.

Lastly, springtime means the bees are out buzzing, pollenating and making honey! If you love honey, look no further than Aussie Bee Products in Lakemba for a range of locally-made honey products. Follow them on Instagram here.

As always, if you’ve got events approaching in spring and are looking for gifts that are as lovely as they are ethical, you can support us here at Welcome Merchant by buying a Gift Hamper.
