Whimsical designs!
Mayy Abuljain is a Melbourne-based, Palestinian-Australian artist & illustrator. Her playful and exuberant work is commonly focused on themes of self-expression, fashion and pop-culture, and is often explored through various mediums, be it collage, illustration, photography or mixed-media – her favourite of all being ‘doodle-bombing’, a concept she is most known for, where she illustrates over the covers of influential publications such as Vogue, TIME and Harper’s Bazaar.
As an Australian Arab Muslim creative, Mayy is also invested in using her art as a way of sparking up dialogue, sharing her experiences of background and culture, as well as giving a voice to those who share her intersectionality – driven by making connections and representing differences in her own whimsical way.
